Accuracy International AE MkII

Accuracy International · Sniper Rifle · Discontinued

Also known as: AE Mk II, Accuracy Enforcement MkII, AI AE MkII, AE-F MkII

Overview

The Accuracy International AE MkII is a bolt-action sniper rifle chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm NATO). It is the second-generation model in the company's Accuracy Enforcement (AE) line, a budget-oriented series that brought Arctic Warfare accuracy to police marksman units at a lower price point. The MkII adopted the AICS common chassis, enabling folding-stock and short-barrel options, and added threaded barrels for muzzle brakes or suppressors. It uses a three-lug 60-degree bolt and feeds from AICS 5- and 10-round detachable box magazines.

Notes

Offered with 610 mm (long) or 508 mm (short) barrels and in fixed or side-folding (AE-F) stock configurations. The AE MkII was superseded by the AE MkIII before the AE line was retired in favour of the AT, AX and AXMC platforms.

Background

The AE (Accuracy Enforcement) series was Accuracy International's value line, engineered so that police departments unable to afford the military Arctic Warfare rifles could still field a genuinely accurate British sniping system; the MkII was the generation that unified it around the AICS chassis and magazine standard.
