Aero Precision EPC-9
Aero Precision · Carbine · In Production · 2021
Also known as: EPC-9, Aero EPC, Enhanced Pistol Caliber Carbine 9
Overview
The Aero Precision EPC-9 (Enhanced Pistol Caliber Carbine) is a 9mm AR-pattern pistol-caliber carbine that runs on a simple, reliable direct-blowback action with no gas system. Its purpose-built lower receiver accepts inexpensive, widely available Glock G17/G19-pattern 9mm magazines and includes a true last-round bolt hold-open built into the upper receiver, a feature many PCC designs lack. The 16-inch carbine wears a 1:10 twist threaded barrel (1/2x28) under a 15-inch free-float M-LOK handguard with a continuous Picatinny top rail. Like the rest of Aero's catalog, the EPC is sold as complete firearms and as component upper/lower/BCG sets so builders can assemble their own. It is popular for PCC competition, home defense, and suppressed plinking.

Notes
Complete 16-inch rifle weight approximately 6 lb 10 oz (about 3,005 g) without magazine or optic; pistol/SBR configurations are lighter. 1:10 twist, 1/2x28 threads. Uses Glock-pattern magazines (10/15/17/33 rd). Aero commonly sells the EPC as parts (upper group ~$350, lower group ~$350, BCG ~$159) to simplify the build; complete EPC rifles also offered around $700-$900.
Background
Aero entered the crowded PCC market by targeting two long-standing builder complaints: ammo-cheap Glock magazine compatibility and a reliable last-round bolt hold-open. The EPC's blowback simplicity and parts-kit availability made it a go-to choice for first-time PCC builders.
