Overview
The Arizmendi Teuf-Teuf is a Spanish .25 ACP blowback semi-automatic vest-pocket pistol produced under one of the trade names used by Francisco Arizmendi y Goenaga of Eibar. Like most Eibar-made pocket pistols of the era, it is a close copy of John Browning's Colt/FN Model 1908 Vest Pocket design, featuring a striker-fired action, a single-stack detachable magazine, a rear-mounted thumb safety and a magazine disconnect. Marketed for civilian self-defence and concealed carry between the World Wars, it was one of countless small-caliber pistols that flowed out of the Basque gunmaking town before production was halted around the Spanish Civil War.

Background
During the early 20th century the Basque town of Eibar produced a flood of inexpensive 6.35mm pocket pistols sold under dozens of fanciful trade names. The onomatopoeic "Teuf-Teuf" - French slang echoing the sputter of an early automobile engine - was one such marketing label, attaching a touch of modern, mechanical glamour to an otherwise utilitarian self-defence pistol.
