Also known as: AF2011, Second Century, Twin 1911

Overview

The Arsenal Firearms AF2011-A1 is a semi-automatic double-barrel pistol chambered in .45 ACP, built essentially as two 1911-pattern pistols mated on a single wide frame and slide. Introduced in 2012 to mark the centenary of John Browning's M1911, it fires two rounds simultaneously from twin parallel barrels, fed by a pair of single-stack magazines joined at a common floor plate for a 8+8 capacity. The machined-steel frame and slide, twin firing pins, shared grip safety and dual triggers make it a novelty collector's piece rather than a service weapon.

Notes

Marketed as the 'Second Century' pistol. A single-trigger version fires both barrels at once; a dual-trigger version allows the barrels to be fired independently. Recoil and weight are considerable due to the two simultaneously discharged .45 ACP cartridges.

Background

Conceived to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Colt M1911, the AF2011-A1 takes the iconic 1911 platform and doubles it, putting two complete .45 ACP pistols side by side so that a single press of the trigger sends two bullets downrange at once.
