Overview
The Arsenal SAM7 is a semi-automatic, milled-receiver AK-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. Introduced to the US market in 2013 by Arsenal Inc. as the SAM7 series, it is built around a hot-die hammer-forged and milled steel receiver and a cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel produced by Arsenal JSCo. of Kazanlak, Bulgaria. Operating on Kalashnikov's long-stroke gas-piston system, it combines the strength and accuracy of a forged-and-milled receiver with an enhanced two-stage fire control group, an adjustable tangent rear sight and a side-mounted scope rail.

Notes
SAM7 designates Arsenal's milled-receiver semi-automatic line, offered in fixed (SAM7R), side-folding (SAM7SF) and under-folding (SAM7UF) stock configurations. Receivers and barrels are Bulgarian-made; rifles are assembled and imported for the US market by Arsenal Inc. Some configurations ship with reduced-capacity 5- or 10-round magazines for restrictive jurisdictions while standard 30-round AK magazines are compatible.
Background
Arsenal JSCo. traces its lineage to the Bulgarian state arsenal founded in 1878, one of the oldest continuously operating arms factories in Europe and a long-time licensed producer of Kalashnikov rifles; the SAM7 brings that forged-and-milled AK pedigree to the American market.
