Astra A-50

Astra-Unceta y Cia SA · Pistol · Discontinued

Also known as: A-50

Overview

The Astra A-50 is a Spanish semi-automatic pocket pistol chambered primarily in .380 ACP (also offered in .32 ACP), manufactured by Astra-Unceta y Cia SA. It is the single-action-only, fixed-sight sibling of the double-action Astra Constable, a compact blowback design patterned after the Walther PP family. The A-50 uses a straight-blowback action with a fixed barrel, an exposed hammer, and a frame-mounted manual safety rather than the slide-mounted safety of the Constable. Its compact dimensions and steel construction made it a popular concealed-carry and civilian defensive pistol, and its frame served as the basis for the .22 LR Astra TS-22 target pistol.
