Overview
The Baikal MP-94 (formerly IZh-94) is a Russian break-action over/under combination gun mating a rifled barrel and a smoothbore shotgun barrel on a Browning-style boxlock action derived from the IZh-27M. Fired by twin triggers and fitted with iron sights plus a scope rail, it is offered from small-bore .22/20-gauge 'Sever' models up to 12-gauge over high-power centerfire rifle calibers.

Notes
Renamed from IZh-94 to MP-94 in the September 2008 Izhevsk re-branding. Barrel stacking is configuration dependent: small-bore Sever models place the rifle barrel on top over a 20-gauge, while high-power models place the 12-gauge shotgun on top over the rifle barrel. Rifle barrel offered in .222 Rem, .223 Rem, 5.6x39, 6.5x55 SE, 7.62x39, .308 Win and .30-06.
Background
Conceived in 1992 as the combination-gun successor to the IZh-27 and built on that proven boxlock over/under platform, the IZh-94 gave budget-minded hunters a Russian-made alternative to costly European drillings.
