The RECCE-14 represents the optimal balance between the maneuverability of SBR-length weapons and the velocity retention of full 16-inch barrels. The 14.5-inch barrel with pinned compensator provides 16.1+ inches of overall length, meeting federal requirements without the need for NFA registration while offering a more compact profile than standard 16-inch carbines. BCM's choice of mid-length gas system on the 14.5-inch barrel provides ideal dwell time and gas pressure, resulting in softer recoil and less wear on components compared to carbine-length systems. The permanently attached BCM Mod 1 compensator not only meets legal requirements but also provides effective muzzle rise control. Like all BCM RECCE rifles, the RECCE-14 undergoes extensive quality control including high-pressure testing and magnetic particle inspection of critical components. The MCMR handguard replaced earlier KeyMod versions as M-LOK became the industry attachment standard. This configuration is highly popular with law enforcement agencies and military personnel seeking a duty-ready carbine with reduced overall length for vehicle operations and close quarters work.
