Beretta 486 Parallelo

Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta · Shotgun · In Production · 2013

Also known as: 486 Parallelo, Beretta A486 Parallelo

Overview

The Beretta 486 Parallelo is an Italian side-by-side double-barrel break-action shotgun introduced in 2013 as a modern revival of Beretta's traditional side-by-side line. It pairs a lavishly engraved round-body action with contemporary engineering: a redesigned V-spring trigger group, cold-hammer-forged OptimaChoke HP barrels, and a selector allowing the user to switch between automatic and manual ejection. Chambered for 3-inch 12-gauge shells (also offered in 20-gauge), it is fitted with a 2.5-grade walnut stock and forend in either English straight-hand or pistol-grip configuration.

Background

Beretta tapped Australian industrial designer Marc Newson to craft the 486 by Marc Newson edition, an edgeless interpretation of the action whose safety catch is set into the walnut like a bridge and whose receiver flows in unbroken lines with no sharp edges.
