Notes
The modular design allows users to change grip size, frame color, and even convert between full-size and compact configurations. The serialized chassis system means the polymer grip is not the firearm itself, allowing easy customization without FFL transfers in most jurisdictions.
Background
The APX was Beretta's belated answer to the polymer striker-fired pistol market dominated by Glock and Smith & Wesson M&P. Its modular chassis system, where the serialized component is a removable steel frame rather than the polymer grip, predated the U.S. military's emphasis on modularity in the MHS competition.
