Overview
The Beretta NARP (New Assault Rifle Platform) is a modular gas-operated, magazine-fed assault rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. Unveiled by Beretta Defence Technologies at DSEI 2023, it uses a short-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and fully ambidextrous controls. The platform is built around modularity, offering multiple barrel lengths, a folding adjustable stock, an M-LOK handguard with a full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail, a non-reciprocating charging handle and compatibility with Beretta B-Silent suppressor technology. It feeds from standard 20- or 30-round STANAG magazines.

Initial barrel options include 11.5-inch, 14.5-inch and 16-inch lengths, with planned configurations spanning 7 to 20 inches. The recoil spring is housed in the upper receiver, freeing the platform to accept a wide range of buttstock options. Background
Publicly revealed at DSEI 2023 in London, the NARP is Beretta's clean-sheet successor concept to the AR70/90 and ARX160 families, positioned to compete for next-generation military and law-enforcement service-rifle contracts in Europe and beyond.
