Notes
The full-size and compact variants use the rotating barrel system (derived from the Beretta 8000 series), while the subcompact uses a tilting barrel system. Available with or without manual safety, and offered with interchangeable backstraps for customization. The Special Duty variant features a threaded barrel for suppressor attachment.
Background
The PX4 Storm's rotating barrel locking system, derived from the earlier Beretta 8000 Cougar series, converts linear recoil energy into rotational motion, measurably reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise compared to tilting-barrel designs. Interestingly, the subcompact variant uses a conventional tilting barrel instead, as the rotating barrel mechanism requires more slide length.
