Beretta SO10 EELL
Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. · Shotgun · In Production · 2003
Also known as: Beretta SO10, SO10 EELL
Overview
The Beretta SO10 EELL is a luxury over-and-under sidelock shotgun and the flagship of Beretta's hand-built Premium Gun line. Introduced in 2003, seventy years after the first modern Beretta over-and-under (the S1 of 1933), it is the deserving successor of the famous SO series of hunting and competition shotguns. The receiver is machined from a solid block of high-resistance tri-alloy steel with no casting or welding, and locking is achieved by a rear longitudinal bolt aligned with the hinge pins plus two lower lugs. The EELL grade carries hand-detachable sideplates, selective ejectors, a single selective trigger, premium class-5 European walnut, and fully bespoke hand engraving in which Beretta's master engravers may invest a thousand hours or more. It is offered in 12, 20, 28 and .410 bore with action sizes scaled to each gauge.

Notes
EELL designates Beretta's highest finish and engraving grade. Each SO10 EELL is essentially a bespoke piece; barrel length, stock dimensions, choke and engraving are made to the customer's specification. Barrel options include 711 mm (28 in), 749 mm (29.5 in), 762 mm (30 in) and 813 mm (32 in).
Background
The SO lineage began in 1933 with Beretta's first modern over-and-under, the S1, and matured into the SO series of competition and hunting sidelocks. The SO10, launched in 2003, sits at the apex of that line, with the EELL grade reserved for the most heavily customized and engraved commissions.
