Bernardelli Hemingway Deluxe
Vincenzo Bernardelli S.p.A. · Shotgun · Discontinued
Also known as: V. Bernardelli Hemingway Deluxe, Hemingway Deluxe
Overview
The Bernardelli Hemingway Deluxe is the upgraded higher grade of the Hemingway side-by-side double-barrel break-action shotgun built by the Italian gunmaker Vincenzo Bernardelli of Gardone Val Trompia. Mechanically identical to the standard Hemingway, it is a traditional English-style upland game gun on an Anson & Deeley boxlock action with automatic ejectors, offered across 12, 20, 28 and 16 gauge with 2.75-inch chambers. The Deluxe grade distinguishes itself with finer, more extensive game-scene engraving on the coin-finished receiver and side plates, and higher-figure select-walnut furniture with an English straight-grip stock and slender splinter forend. Double triggers are standard with a single selective trigger available as an option, and it was frequently offered as matched two-gun gauge sets for the discerning bird shooter.

Notes
Deluxe is the finer-embellishment grade of the Bernardelli Hemingway line, differing from the standard model in wood figure and engraving rather than mechanics. Produced until Vincenzo Bernardelli ceased firearms production in 2017.
Background
Named for the novelist and avid bird hunter Ernest Hemingway, the Hemingway became one of Vincenzo Bernardelli's signature English-style upland doubles; the Deluxe grade lavished finer walnut and richer game-scene engraving on the same fast-handling boxlock gun before the historic Gardone Val Trompia firm closed in 2017.
