Black Aces Tactical DT

Black Aces Tactical · Shotgun · Discontinued · 2015

Also known as: DT, Black Aces DT, The Firearm

Overview

The Black Aces Tactical DT is an ultra-compact, magazine-fed pump-action 12 gauge classified by the ATF as a 'firearm' rather than an NFA-regulated short-barreled shotgun or AOW, thanks to its pistol grip and stabilizing brace rather than a conventional stock. It runs a stubby 8.5-inch barrel, an AK-style magazine well that accepts patented 5- or 10-round stick magazines or 12- and 20-round ProMag drums, an ATI pistol grip, a Magpul foregrip, and a SIG Sauer SB15 brace on a fixed or folding buffer tube. Overall length is about 28 inches, collapsing to roughly 19 inches with the folding brace. The DTR variant adds the RB7DT single-piece 6061-T6 aluminum quad-rail that doubles as a barrel shroud and a mounting surface for optics, lights, and lasers.

Background

Black Aces Tactical obtained a BATFE determination letter classifying the brace-equipped DT as a 'firearm' rather than an SBS or AOW, letting buyers own a sub-19-inch folding 12 gauge with a 10-round drum and no NFA tax stamp or paperwork.
