Overview
The Blaser R8 Professional 2.0 is the updated generation of Blaser's flagship straight-pull bolt-action hunting rifle. Its linear straight-pull action uses a concentric radial-collet locking system inside the barrel extension, allowing exceptionally fast follow-up shots, while the unique manual cocking system serves as the rifle's safety. The 2.0 update adds an extremely versatile stock with length-of-pull adjustable between 355 and 390 mm, and a DLC A+ coated barrel offering very high surface hardness, maximum corrosion protection and a deep matt-black finish. As a modular multi-caliber platform, the R8 accepts user-changeable barrels across a wide range of chamberings, including .308 Winchester.

Background
The Blaser R8's manual-cocking system means the striker is only tensioned when the shooter deliberately pushes the cocking slide forward, so the rifle can be carried with a chambered round yet remain completely safe until the instant before a shot.
