Blitz-Kerner

Albert Kerbl GmbH · Pistol · In Production

Also known as: Blitz Kerner, Blitz captive bolt stunner, Blitz penetrating captive bolt gun

Overview

The Blitz-Kerner is a German captive bolt pistol used to stun and humanely dispatch livestock such as pigs, sheep, goats, calves and cattle. Rather than firing a projectile, it drives a retained steel bolt a short distance out of the muzzle when a 9x17mm centrefire blank cartridge is fired, delivering a high-velocity penetrating blow before the return spring retracts the bolt. Of solid, few-part construction with a nickel-plated finish and a hexagonal body that prevents it from rolling, it accepts colour-coded cartridges of four strength levels for different animal sizes.
