Also known as: Cynergy, Browning Cynergy CX
Overview
The Browning Cynergy is a break-action over-and-under double-barreled shotgun introduced in 2004. A radical departure from traditional over-under designs, it is built around the MonoLock Hinge, which integrates the monoblock and hinge for up to 300% more pivoting surface area than conventional trunnion-style hinges, producing an exceptionally low-profile receiver. Its Reverse Striker mechanical trigger system uses an actuator to reverse the direction of spring force to the firing pins, giving a crisp pull, fast lock time and minimal overtravel. Chambered for 12 gauge with 3-inch shells, the Cynergy uses Browning's Invector-Plus choke tube system and is offered across field, sporting, hunting and waterfowl configurations.

Background
The Cynergy's MonoLock Hinge and Reverse Striker trigger were patented by Browning employees Joseph Rousseau and Dwight Potter, who assigned the rights to the company. Its low-profile, futuristic receiver styling made it one of the most visually distinctive over-under shotguns of the 2000s.
