Overview
The B&T SPC9 (Special Police Carbine, 9mm) is a Swiss-designed 9x19mm semi-automatic carbine and personal-defense weapon from B&T AG, the successor to the company's TP9/MP9 and APC9 lines in the police-carbine role. It pairs classic AR-pattern controls with B&T's hydraulic-buffer blowback operating system, which smooths the recoil impulse and reduces felt recoil compared to conventional straight blowback. A defining feature is its modular magazine well, which can be configured to accept Glock-pattern, SIG P320, or B&T proprietary magazines, giving agencies feed-device flexibility. The SPC9 is offered in barrel lengths from 4.5 inches (integrally suppressed SD models) through 6.5-inch PDW, 9-inch standard/Tele, and 16-inch sport configurations, with a three-lug muzzle for rapid suppressor attachment and a telescoping stock on most models.

Notes
B&T produces the SPC9 in a semi-automatic version for commercial and most law-enforcement sales; the closely related select-fire SMG (sometimes designated within the SPC/APC family) is restricted to military and police. The hydraulic buffer is a B&T signature feature shared across the APC line. The SD models use an integrally suppressed, ported barrel with a reduced-backpressure suppressor system. Empty weight varies significantly with barrel length and stock configuration; the figure given is approximate for the PDW configuration.
Background
The SPC9's party trick is its swappable magazine well - an agency already issuing Glock 17s or SIG P320s can run the same pistol magazines through its carbines, sidestepping the proprietary-magazine headache that plagues most PDWs.
