Bushmaster XM15 A2

Bushmaster Firearms International · Rifle · In Production · 2023

Overview

The Bushmaster XM15 A2 is a classic 20-inch rifle-length AR-15 in 5.56 NATO that recreates the traditional A2-style configuration: a fixed carry handle with adjustable rear aperture, an A2 fixed buttstock, a chrome-lined phosphate-finished barrel, and an A2 flash hider. Reintroduced as a 50th-anniversary commemorative of the Bushmaster brand, it offers a retro, mil-spec-pattern service-rifle layout in the current lineup.

Background

The XM15 designation is Bushmaster's own civilian AR-15 model name, and the A2 'fixed carry handle' rifle harks back to the original M16A2/AR-15 service-rifle silhouette that defined the platform for a generation before flat-top, optics-ready uppers became the norm.
