Cabot Guns · Pistol · Limited Production · 2014
Also known as: Cabot 1911 Jones, Cabot Jones .45
Overview
The Cabot Guns Jones 1911 is a premium full-size .45 ACP 1911 hand-built at Cabot's Pennsylvania shop, machined from solid 4140 American billet steel using CNC and EDM technology. Inspired by the Indiana Jones character, the pistol features Sonoran Desert Ironwood grips, hand-polished bright bluing, front-strap checkering, a Wolff variable recoil spring, and Novak adjustable sights paired with a 5-inch post-custom National Match-grade fitted barrel. The Jones is named in honor of Joe 'Jones' Massaro, the late founder of parent company Penn United Technologies, who pioneered the precision-machining methods Cabot uses to hand-fit every pistol.

Background
Cabot Guns rose to global fame in 2016 when its parent company carved a pair of mirrored 1911s - 'The Big Bang Pistols' - from a 4.5-billion-year-old Gibeon meteorite that fell in Namibia, asking $4.5 million for the pair. The Jones model itself memorializes Joe Massaro, the founder of Cabot's parent Penn United, whose precision-machining empire made aerospace-grade 1911s economically possible.
