Overview

The Cadex CDX-30 Guardian is a bolt-action precision sniper rifle built by Cadex Defence of Quebec, Canada, on the company's CDX-30 short action. It is chambered in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .260 Remington, and 6.5x47mm Lapua, feeding from 10-round AICS-pattern detachable box magazines. The CDX-30 action uses a three-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift and a Sako-style extractor riding in a monolithic aircraft-grade aluminum chassis, mated to a free-floating match-grade stainless barrel (offered in 20, 24, and 26 inch lengths) that is threaded to accept a muzzle brake or sound suppressor. The rifle carries a full-length 20-MOA Picatinny top rail for optic elevation and a fully adjustable skeletonized buttstock with tool-free length-of-pull and cheek-piece adjustment. Fire control is Cadex's DX2 trigger, user-selectable between single- and two-stage operation.

Notes

The Guardian is offered in Lite and Tac configurations; barrel length, chambering, and final weight vary significantly by build. Advertised twist rates include 1:8 for the 6.5mm chamberings and roughly 1:11 for .308 Winchester. Weight and overall length quoted here are for a representative 24-inch .308 configuration and should be treated as approximate across the range of builds.

Background

The CDX-30 Guardian helped establish Cadex Defence's reputation for chassis-built precision rifles, pairing the Canadian firm's monolithic aluminum receiver engineering with a quick 60-degree three-lug bolt throw favored by long-range competitors and tactical marksmen alike.
