Canik (Samsun Yurt Savunma) · Pistol · In Production · 2026
Also known as: Canik METE MC9 Prime Radian, Canik Radian
Overview
The Canik Prime Radian is a striker-fired, polymer-framed micro-compact semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, introduced at the 2026 SHOT Show as a premium everyday carry (EDC) pistol built on the METE MC9 Prime platform. Manufactured by Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) in Samsun, Turkey, the Prime Radian distinguishes itself through a factory-integrated collaboration with Radian Weapons, featuring the Radian RAMJET barrel with an integrated AFTERBURNER compensator system for superior recoil mitigation. The 3.8-inch barrel delivers 17+1 capacity in a micro-compact package weighing just 24.7 ounces with an empty magazine. The optics-ready slide accommodates micro red dot sights and comes equipped with Night Fision tritium sights for low-light target acquisition. The Canik flat-face trigger provides a crisp 90-degree break at approximately 3 pounds 9 ounces with a clean, short reset -- maintaining the trigger quality that established the Canik brand as an industry benchmark. The Radian-enhanced backstrap and magwell improve grip ergonomics and reload speed. Fully ambidextrous controls, an integrated accessory rail, and aggressive grip texturing round out the feature set. At an MSRP of $850, the Prime Radian represents Canik's premium tier, offering factory-installed competition-grade components in a concealed-carry-size package.

Notes
The Prime Radian is built on the same METE MC9 Prime platform that established Canik as a value leader in the striker-fired pistol market, but with the addition of premium Radian Weapons components. The Radian RAMJET barrel uses a proprietary barrel design with integrated compensator ports, while the AFTERBURNER compensator attaches to the barrel and redirects propellant gases to reduce muzzle flip. The Radian-enhanced backstrap provides improved ergonomics and the flared magwell facilitates faster magazine changes. Century Arms serves as the exclusive U.S. importer under the Canik USA brand. The MC9 platform itself evolved from Canik's highly successful TP9 series, which earned widespread acclaim for offering the best factory trigger in the striker-fired pistol market. Canik's parent company SYS operates a NATO-approved, ISO 9000-certified facility that also manufactures aerospace and defense components for Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and Boeing.
Background
The Canik Prime Radian represents an unusual factory collaboration between a Turkish firearms manufacturer and the American precision rifle and AR-15 accessories company Radian Weapons. The partnership integrates Radian's RAMJET barrel technology -- originally designed for competition AR-15 rifles -- into a micro-compact concealed carry pistol, effectively bringing competition-grade recoil mitigation to the everyday carry market.
