Overview
The Carl Gustaf m/94 is a Swedish bolt-action carbine chambered in 6.5x55mm Swedish, adopted in 1894 as a short, handy weapon for cavalry, artillery and other mounted troops. Built on Paul Mauser's smooth and durable action, it fed from a five-round internal magazine loaded with stripper clips. Manufactured by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori and Mauser of Oberndorf, it became the compact companion to the longer m/96 rifle in the Swedish Mauser family.

An updated m/94-14 pattern added a bayonet lug and stacking hook. The smooth Carl Gustaf action and accurate 6.5x55mm cartridge made surplus m/94 carbines popular with later sporters and target shooters.
Background
Issued to Swedish cavalry and mounted units before either World War, the m/94 carbine spent its service life in a neutral nation that never sent it to large-scale combat. Around 900 examples reached Finland for the 1939-40 Winter War, and decades later the carbine's exceptionally smooth action and inherently accurate 6.5x55mm round made surplus m/94s prized by collectors and precision shooters.
