Overview
The Century Arms WASR-10 (Wassenaar Arrangement Semiautomatic Rifle) is a Romanian-built, semi-automatic AKM-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm and finished/assembled by Century Arms for the US market. Built on a 1mm stamped steel receiver originally produced by Cugir Arsenal in Romania, the WASR-10 is the best-selling AK-pattern rifle in the United States. Earlier single-stack imports were converted by Century to accept double-stack magazines, the source of the platform's reputation for slightly loose magazine fit. Modern production WASR-10 rifles ship with a 16.25-inch chrome-lined hammer-forged barrel, slant muzzle brake, side optic rail, bolt hold-open safety, and the RAK-1 enhanced trigger group.

Background
The WASR-10 became the archetypal 'budget AK' in America - imported as sporting single-stack rifles and re-milled to accept standard double-stack magazines, a workaround that gave the rifle its famously wobbly magazine fit and a devoted following among shooters who prized authenticity and price over polish.
