Also known as: CF-05, CS/LS06, Type 06, Changfeng
Overview
The Chang Feng CF-05 (also designated CS/LS06 or Type 06) is a compact Chinese select-fire submachine gun developed by Chongqing Changfeng from the early 1990s, by the same design team behind the QSZ-92 pistol. It uses a blowback action with a wrap-around bolt that surrounds the barrel to keep the weapon short, and feeds from a distinctive 50-round helical polymer magazine similar to the American Calico design. Rejected for general PLA service, it was offered for export and to Chinese law enforcement, primarily chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum with 5.8x21mm prototype and 7.62x25mm options reported.

Notes
Sources differ on chambering: the 5.8x21mm DAP-58 was the early prototype round, 9x19mm Parabellum is the documented production/export chambering, and 7.62x25mm Tokarev is cited as an additional offering. The helical magazine sits atop the receiver and holds 50 rounds.
Background
Built around a Calico-style 50-round helical magazine and a bolt that wraps clean around the barrel, the CF-05 packs a full magazine's worth of firepower into something barely longer than a large pistol, yet the PLA passed on it, and it survived as a niche police and export piece.
