Charter Arms Pitbull .45 ACP

Charter Arms · Revolver · In Production · 2014

Also known as: Pitbull 45

Overview

The Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP is a five-shot, stainless-steel double-action/single-action snub-nose revolver chambered for the rimless .45 ACP cartridge. Its defining feature is Charter's patented dual-coil spring extractor system, with a spring-loaded plunger at each chamber that snaps into the cartridge's extractor groove, allowing rimless .45 ACP rounds to be loaded, retained, and ejected without the moon clips traditionally required to fire rimless ammunition in a revolver. It carries a 2.5-inch barrel, fixed serrated-ramp front and notch rear sights, and rubber grips.

Notes

The rimless extractor design lets the Pitbull share .45 ACP ammunition with a semi-automatic carry pistol while avoiding moon clips. The Pitbull family is also offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and other chamberings.
