Overview
The CheyTac M200 Intervention is an American bolt-action sniper rifle chambered in .408 CheyTac, produced by CheyTac LLC since 2001. Designed as a long-range rifle system (LRRS) for engaging targets beyond 2,000 metres, it pairs a manually operated turn-bolt action with a free-floating, fluted 736 mm match barrel, a quick-change barrel system, an integral folding bipod, and a folding stock for transport. The .408 CheyTac cartridge it fires was engineered to stay supersonic past 2,200 metres, giving the rifle exceptional terminal accuracy at extreme distance.

Notes
The .408 CheyTac cartridge fires a solid copper-nickel alloy projectile with a very high ballistic coefficient (approximately 0.945), engineered to avoid the transonic instability zone at long range. The rifle is fed from a 7-round detachable box magazine (a 5-round magazine is also available) and is topped with a 40-MOA scope rail. Barrel life is rated at roughly 2,500 rounds. A 26-inch optional barrel is offered alongside the standard 29-inch barrel.
Background
The M200 gained wide pop-culture recognition from the 2007 film 'Shooter' and numerous video games including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The CheyTac system bundled the rifle with a ballistic computer (the Advanced Ballistic Computer) that accounted for Coriolis effect, spin drift, and atmospheric conditions to deliver first-round hits at extreme range.
