Notes
The .408 CheyTac cartridge fires a 419-grain solid copper-nickel alloy projectile with a ballistic coefficient of approximately 0.945, one of the highest of any small arms projectile. The barrel life is rated at approximately 2,500 rounds. The M200 Carbine variant has been discontinued. The M310 and M325 variants feature different barrel lengths (29 inches and 28 inches respectively) and are available in both single-shot and repeater configurations. The rifle system was featured prominently in the film 'Shooter' (2007), significantly boosting its public profile. The CheyTac ballistic computer accounts for the Coriolis effect and spin drift at extreme ranges.
Background
The .408 CheyTac cartridge was specifically engineered to remain supersonic beyond 2,200 meters, avoiding the transonic instability zone that degrades accuracy for most long-range calibers. The M200 gained massive pop-culture recognition from the 2007 film 'Shooter' and numerous video games including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
