The Chiappa 1873 Black Thunder is a modernized single-action revolver introduced in 2026, reimagining the classic 1873 single-action army pattern in .44 Remington Magnum. The 7.5-inch model holds six rounds in a semi-hexagonal fluted cylinder that trims weight while retaining strength, and uses a tensioned barrel system with a steel inner barrel sleeved in an aluminum outer housing. The blued-steel frame carries a transfer-bar safety, adjustable fiber-optic sights, a top-mounted Picatinny optics rail, an enlarged trigger guard for gloved use, and a Hogue oversized rubber grip compatible with Ruger Super Blackhawk grips.
