Also known as: Chiappa M6 X Caliber, M6 Survival Rifle
Overview
The Chiappa M6 is an Italian over/under combination survival gun that pairs a rifled rimfire barrel over a smoothbore shotgun barrel in a single break-action long gun. Introduced in 2010 and inspired by the Cold War-era U.S. M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon, it is offered with a 12 or 20 gauge shotgun barrel over a .22 LR or .22 WMR rifle barrel, uses double triggers with a lever-action cocking mechanism for its internal hammers, and features a skeletonized metal buttstock that stores spare ammunition and a cleaning kit. Iron sights and Picatinny rails allow accessory mounting, and an optional X Caliber adapter set lets the shotgun barrel fire a range of additional pistol and rifle cartridges.

Background
The M6 revives the concept of the U.S. Air Force M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon issued to downed pilots during the Cold War, adding a modern twist with a buttstock ammunition locker and an optional 'X Caliber' adapter set that lets a single gun feed a dozen different cartridges from scavenged ammo.
