CMMG Banshee Mk10

CMMG Inc. · Personal Defense Weapon · In Production · 2020

Also known as: Banshee 10mm, Mk10 Banshee, CMMG Mk10

Overview

The CMMG Banshee Mk10 is an AR-pattern personal defense weapon pistol/SBR chambered in 10mm Auto, built around CMMG's proprietary Radial Delayed Blowback (RDB) action, which uses angled bolt lugs that rotate to delay the action opening under the high pressure of the 10mm cartridge. It feeds from Glock 20/29-pattern magazines and ships with 30-round SGM Tactical magazines, making it a companion carbine to Glock 10mm pistols. The standard configuration uses an 8-inch 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with a 1:16 twist, 7075-T6 aluminum forged upper and lower receivers, an M-LOK handguard, and an SB Tactical SBA3 adjustable arm brace, finished in hardcoat anodizing under Cerakote in a range of colors.

Notes

Radial Delayed Blowback uses a rotating bolt head to mechanically delay unlocking - closest schema enum is `delayed_blowback`. Overall length is 23.8-27 in depending on the SBA3 brace setting; 605 mm reflects the collapsed length. Manufacturer/American Rifleman list 5.5 lb (~2495 g) unloaded. Ships with a heavier 3.4 oz bolt weight and extra buffer tuned for 10mm. SBR variant substitutes a RipStock for the pistol brace.

Background

CMMG added the 10mm Auto Mk10 to its Banshee line to answer demand for a hard-hitting AR-format PDW that shares magazines with Glock 10mm pistols such as the Glock 20 and Glock 29. Taming the high-pressure 10mm cartridge in an AR host required CMMG's proprietary Radial Delayed Blowback system, which it had already proven on smaller Banshee chamberings, making the Mk10 one of the few commercially successful AR-pattern 10mm carbine platforms.
