Overview

The Colt Canada MRR (Modular Rail Rifle) is a semi-automatic, gas-operated AR-15-pattern carbine chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. Built around a monolithic upper receiver with a continuous top rail and a Magpul M-LOK modular handguard, it accepts interchangeable free-floating cold hammer-forged barrels in lengths from 11.6 to 18.6 inches. Marketed to military, law enforcement, and commercial users, the MRR pairs Colt Canada's chrome-lined barrel technology with optional ambidextrous fire controls and a manual thumb selector.

Notes

The MRR is offered with multiple upper-receiver rail lengths (Sub-Compact, Small, Medium) and in 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm and .300 Blackout chamberings. Commercial 5.56 models are typically semi-automatic only; the modular system allows barrel swaps without specialized armorer tools.

Background

Colt Canada (formerly Diemaco) is the Canadian small-arms manufacturer behind the C7 and C8 service rifles. The MRR distills decades of that AR-pattern experience into a modular civilian and operational platform that lets users reconfigure barrel length and rail real estate for different roles.
