Overview

The Colt Trooper Mark III is a medium-large-frame, six-shot double-action revolver introduced in 1969 as a major redesign of the earlier Trooper. The Mark III introduced Colt's modernized 'J' frame action with a coil mainspring and a transfer-bar-style safety, simplifying manufacture while improving durability. It was offered in .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .22 LR and .22 Magnum with 4-, 6- and 8-inch solid-rib heavy barrels featuring an ejector-rod shroud.
