Overview
The Colt Trooper Mk V is the final evolution of Colt's medium-frame Trooper double-action revolver, produced from 1982 to 1985. It introduced a new, slightly smaller 'V' frame with a fully redesigned action, a shorter hammer fall for faster lock time, and a lighter, smoother double-action pull. Chambered in .357 Magnum with a six-shot swing-out cylinder, it carried a full ventilated rib over the barrel with a half underlug and adjustable sights, visually echoing the Colt Python. It was the last of the Trooper line before Colt wound down its double-action service-revolver production.

Notes
Built on the new 'V' frame; the Whitetailer variant offered an 8-inch barrel. This is a distinct variant of the earlier Colt Trooper Mk III (variant_of: colt-trooper).
Background
The Mk V's reworked action gave it the fastest lock time of any Colt double-action revolver to that point, but it arrived just as Colt was retreating from the police-revolver market, making it the swan song of the Trooper name.
