Overview
The CVA Optima V2 is a break-action inline muzzleloading rifle chambered in .50 caliber. Introduced at the 2013 SHOT Show, it uses 209 shotshell primer ignition and CVA's Quick Release Breech Plug (QRBP), which can be removed by hand without tools for cleaning. The rifle pairs a 26-inch fluted 416 stainless steel barrel with a 1:28 twist and an ambidextrous synthetic stock, and is popular as an affordable, accurate muzzleloader for hunting.

Loaded from the muzzle with loose blackpowder or pellets and a saboted bullet or conical projectile. Offered in blued and stainless finishes with DuraSight integral scope mount or fiber-optic open sights; a Blackhorn 209 breech plug variant is also produced.
Background
CVA (Connecticut Valley Arms) built its reputation on affordable blackpowder kits in the 1970s before pivoting to modern inline muzzleloaders; the Optima line became one of its best-selling hunting platforms.
