CZ 75 SP-01
Česká zbrojovka · Pistol · In Production · 2004
Also known as: CZ 75 SP-01, SP-01
Overview
The CZ 75 SP-01 is a full-size, all-steel, double-action/single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. Introduced in 2004, it was the first full-size CZ 75 to incorporate the improved ergonomics and manufacturing technology developed for the NATO-approved CZ 75 Compact P-01, adding an integral 1913 accessory rail beneath the dust cover, an extended beavertail, and a high-capacity 18-round magazine. Its low slide rails, which ride inside the frame, give the pistol a notably low bore axis for reduced muzzle flip and excellent recoil control.

Notes
The SP-01 has a strong following in practical and action pistol competition, where the Shadow and Shadow 2 derivatives are widely used. The decocker-equipped SP-01 Tactical is offered alongside the manual-safety standard model.
Background
The SP-01 designation derives from the CZ 75 family pioneered by brothers František and Josef Koucký in 1975; the SP-01 platform later spawned the Shadow line that became a dominant competition pistol in IPSC and USPSA Production divisions.
