Overview
The CZ-91S is a semi-automatic-only civilian pistol derived from the select-fire Skorpion vz. 61 machine pistol, produced by Ceska Zbrojovka in Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic. Chambered in the more powerful .380 ACP rather than the vz. 61's .32 ACP, it uses a simple blowback action, is hammer-fired from a closed bolt, feeds from straight 12- or 30-round detachable box magazines, and retains the platform's signature wire stock that folds over the top of the milled steel receiver. It was aimed at the civilian export market after the fall of communism.

Background
When communism fell, Ceska Zbrojovka reworked its Cold War-era Skorpion machine pistol into the semi-automatic CZ-91S in punchier .380 ACP, one of several efforts to bring hard currency into the new Czech economy by selling the iconic little sub-gun to Western civilian shooters.
