Overview
The Daewoo DR200 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, the civilian-legal export version of the South Korean military Daewoo K2 service rifle. Built around a long-stroke gas piston operating system, it accepts standard AR-15 pattern magazines and was imported into the United States by Daewoo Precision Industries (later marketed through Kimber of America). The DR200 was reconfigured after the 1994 U.S. assault weapons ban with a thumbhole-style stock and a removed bayonet lug to comply with import restrictions.

Notes
The pre-1994-ban import was sold as the AR-100, retaining the K2's military features including a folding stock and bayonet lug; the post-ban DR200 altered these features for legal import. The DR300 was a 7.62x39mm chambered sibling.
Background
The DR200 gave U.S. shooters a rare taste of the South Korean K2 service rifle, a hybrid design blending an AR-15-style upper layout with an AK-style long-stroke gas piston and an FN FAL-influenced folding stock.
