Overview
The Daisy 717 is a single-pump pneumatic .177 caliber air pistol introduced by Daisy in 1979 as an affordable entry-level target pistol. A single stroke of its side-mounted cocking lever charges the gun to full power, firing a single pellet at roughly 360 feet per second through a rifled steel barrel. With a molded grip featuring a right-hand thumbrest, an adjustable rear sight, and a cross-bolt trigger-block safety, it sits at the base of Daisy's Avanti target line and is widely used for plinking and beginner marksmanship training.
