Dan-Inject JM Standard
DANiNJECT International S.A. · Rifle · In Production
Also known as: DANiNJECT JM Standard, JM Standard Rifle, Dan-Inject Model JM Standard CO2 Injection Rifle
Overview
The Dan-Inject JM Standard is a Danish CO2-powered veterinary tranquilizer dart rifle used for the remote immobilization of wildlife, zoo animals, and livestock. Rather than a lethal firearm, it fires a self-injecting projectile syringe (dart) propelled by adjustable compressed CO2 pressure, allowing a marksman to deliver anaesthetic or medication to an animal from a distance. It accepts interchangeable 11mm or 13mm bore barrels to suit dart volumes from 1.5cc up to 10cc, and its overall length is barely longer than the barrel itself, making it exceptionally compact and light.

Origin
Country of origin: Denmark
Notes
The propulsion pressure is manually adjustable (up to roughly 16 bar) so the same dart can be fired accurately at ranges from a few metres out to about 40 m with the 11mm barrel; a single CO2 charge supports several shots. It is a remote drug-delivery injection system, not a conventional firearm, and in most jurisdictions is regulated as veterinary/animal-capture equipment.
Background
DANiNJECT rifles are a mainstay of modern wildlife conservation, used to sedate rhinos, elephants, big cats, and other animals for medical treatment, translocation, and anti-poaching relocation programmes across Africa and beyond.
