Overview

The Desert Tech Infinity 16 is a select-fire .223 Wylde (5.56mm) assault rifle built on the AR-15 platform for military and law enforcement Tier-One operators. Its defining feature is the QMAG-53 quad-stack 53-round magazine, which offers roughly 80% more capacity and 50% fewer reloads than a standard 30-round magazine while remaining compatible with standard AR-pattern magazines. It runs a direct-impingement mid-length gas system with a match-grade 416 stainless, nitride-finished barrel offered in 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch lengths, a match duty trigger, a birdcage flash hider, and an ambidextrous Radian Talon 45/90 safety selector.

Notes

Debuted at SHOT Show 2024 on Desert Tech's new Quattro-15 lower receiver, which accepts the proprietary QMAG-53 quad-stack magazine as well as standard AR-15 magazines and mates with standard AR-15 upper receivers. The '16' designates the product line rather than a barrel length; the shown configurations use 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch barrels.

Background

The Infinity 16's signature is the QMAG-53 quad-stack magazine, a 53-round AR magazine that lets an operator carry a standard 210-round combat loadout in fewer magazines, cutting reloading time roughly in half during sustained full-auto fire.
