Overview
The Diana 54 Airking is a full-power, single-shot, spring-piston air rifle chambered in .177 (4.5mm) pellets. Its defining feature is a recoilless 'floating action' system in which the entire barrel-and-cylinder assembly rides on internal rails and slides rearward against the spring's recoil impulse, cancelling out felt kick and preserving accuracy. Cocked by a right-side sidelever and fitted with an adjustable two-stage T06 trigger, it is a favourite of field-target and precision springer shooters.

Also offered in .22 (5.5mm). Muzzle velocity reaches roughly 1100 fps (335 m/s) in .177 and about 900 fps in .22 with light pellets. The current 54 Airking Pro revision (introduced around 2020) added the T06 trigger, refreshed beech or laminated stocks with checkering, and an adjustable barrel weight; earlier 54 rifles carried Diana's older trigger units.
Background
Diana, founded as Mayer & Grammelspacher in Rastatt, Germany in 1890, is among the oldest airgun makers in the world and takes its name and emblem from the Roman goddess of the hunt. The Model 54 built on the recoilless sliding-rail principle Diana pioneered with the Model 52/48 series, giving spring-piston shooters near-recoilless accuracy without the cost of a PCP system.
