Overview

The Faxon Ascent is the AR-15 half of Faxon Firearms' First Line, a value-driven do-it-all carbine that the company markets for hunting, defense, and competition. The 16-inch rifle weighs about 6.12 pounds and is built around a Faxon SOCOM-profile barrel with a black nitride finish and carbine-length gas system, an enhanced forged receiver set with a tensioning screw, a nitrided superfinished M16 bolt carrier group, and a free-floating 13-inch aluminum M-LOK handguard. It ships with an M4 collapsible stock, A2 pistol grip, mil-spec charging handle, and A2 birdcage flash hider. The Ascent family includes the 16-inch rifle, a 10.5-inch pistol, and a heavier HBAR-barreled rifle.
