Overview
The Faxon ION-X Hyperlite is the flagship of Faxon's Summit ultralight family, pushing AR-15 weight reduction to its extreme. The 16-inch 5.56 rifle weighs roughly 4.93 pounds, dropping further with the titanium option. It pairs a Faxon pencil-profile barrel with a 13-inch carbon-fiber M-LOK handguard, a lightweight superfinished M16 bolt carrier group, Type III hard-coat anodized 7075-T6 forged receivers, and the Faxon Slim 3-Port muzzle brake. The ION-X line spans 5.56 NATO rifles and pistols (including titanium-equipped builds) and 300 Blackout pistol and PDW configurations, the latter aimed at compact suppressed use.
