Franchi Momentum Elite Carbine
Luigi Franchi S.p.A. · Rifle · In Production · 2026
Also known as: Momentum Carbine Elite, Momentum Carbine Elite .400 Legend
Overview
The Franchi Momentum Elite Carbine is a compact bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in the straight-wall .400 Legend cartridge, added to the Momentum Elite family for 2026. It pairs an 18-inch fluted, threaded barrel and radial muzzle brake with a fast 60-degree three-lug bolt throw, an adjustable Ergonom-X synthetic stock, a one-piece Picatinny optics rail, and a 1-MOA accuracy guarantee. The straight-wall chambering targets hunters in Midwest and Great Lakes states whose regulations restrict bottlenecked rifle cartridges.

Notes
The Carbine Elite platform debuted in 2025; the .400 Legend chambering was added for 2026. Shares its 18-inch fluted barrel and chassis with the 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win and .350 Legend Carbine Elite variants.
Background
Winchester designed the .400 Legend to split the difference between the .350 Legend and the .45-70 Government, pushing a larger .40-caliber bullet faster than the .350 while running roughly 10,000 psi lower pressure, and it shares a 6.8 SPC bolt face so it also drops straight into AR-15 platforms.
