Gamo CFX

Also known as: Gamo CF-X, CFX Fixed Barrel

Overview

The Gamo CFX is a Spanish underlever, spring-piston air rifle chambered for .177 (4.5mm) pellets. Its defining feature is a fixed rifled steel barrel paired with an underlever cocking system, a layout that improves consistency and accuracy over a conventional break-barrel because the barrel never moves relative to the action and scope. It feeds single pellets through a side-loading breech, carries fiber-optic open sights and a grooved scope rail, and uses a two-stage adjustable trigger in an ambidextrous synthetic stock. A higher-muzzle-energy .22 version is also offered.

Notes

Sometimes marketed as the CF-X. The fixed-barrel underlever design is shared with several BSA spring-piston rifles, reflecting Gamo's ownership of BSA Guns. Quoted velocities vary by market and pellet weight, with .177 versions advertised up to roughly 1000 fps (305 m/s).

Background

The CFX became one of Gamo's most recommended spring-piston rifles for shooters wanting break-barrel power without break-barrel inconsistency, its fixed barrel making it a favourite for scoped hunting and field-target practice.
