Notes
One of the most powerful spring-piston air rifles of its era. The .177 version was advertised at up to 1650 fps with lightweight PBA Platinum pellets and around 1250 fps with lead pellets; the .22 version is slower but heavier-hitting. Demands a high cocking effort of roughly 58 lbs (260 N), a frequent point of criticism alongside the heavy trigger.
Background
Gamo positioned the Hunter Extreme SE as a flagship 'hyper velocity' springer, using its proprietary PBA Platinum lightweight pellets to chase headline supersonic velocity figures in .177 caliber.
