Notes
Gen5 removed finger grooves from previous generations for improved ergonomics and universal hand fit. The Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) features enhanced polygonal rifling and improved barrel crown for better accuracy. The MOS (Modular Optic System) variant adds precision-machined slide cuts and mounting plates for red dot optics. The FS designation indicates front serrations for improved slide manipulation. Standard magazine capacity is 15 rounds, with optional 10, 17, and 24-round magazines available. The Glock 19M is a variant developed specifically for FBI contract with additional features. Estimated 65% of U.S. law enforcement agencies use some variant of Glock pistols, with the Glock 19 being the most popular compact model.
Background
The Glock 19 is often called the 'Goldilocks gun' because it strikes the perfect balance between size and capacity -- small enough to conceal, large enough to fight with. The FBI's adoption of the Glock 19M in 2016, with its special contract features, triggered a cascade of federal agency adoptions.
