Notes

The G22 Gen5 MOS shares the same weight and most dimensions as the standard Gen5 G22: 732g (25.82 oz) without magazine, 202mm overall length, 114mm barrel. The key difference is the MOS slide cut for optics mounting and the slightly longer sight radius (168mm vs 164mm). The MOS slide width remains 27.5mm (1.08 inches). The MOS system supports Trijicon RMR, Holosun, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and other popular red dot footprints via included adapter plates.

Background

The Glock 22 Gen5 MOS represents a curious intersection of firearms trends: adding the latest optics technology to a caliber that many consider yesterday's news. Yet for the thousands of agencies still running .40 S&W, the MOS variant offers a practical upgrade path -- adding a red dot sight to an existing duty caliber without the cost and logistics of a full platform change. It's a pragmatic solution for departments that have decades of .40 S&W ammunition contracts and training protocols they're not ready to abandon.
